Key Measurements

• ⭕ Outer Diameter (O.D.): 87mm (For the 25mm, 32mm, 40mm, 50mm, 75mm, 100mm, and 135mm). ⚠️ 110mm (For the 18mm lens only).

• 🔄 Front Filter Thread: None (These are true cinema lenses; a matte box is strictly required).

• Physical Movement: Internal focus design. (The front element does not telescope or rotate, keeping your matte box perfectly stationary during focus pulls).

Compatible Matte Boxes (Available to Rent)

• ARRI Lightweight Mattebox LMB-25 3-Stage: Can be used as a clamp-on, but you must ensure you have both the 87mm and 110mm clamp-on backplates to accommodate the two different front diameters in this set.

• Tilta Matte Box MB-T12: Because of the dual front diameters (87mm and 110mm), mounting this matte box via 15mm LWS rods rather than clamp-on adapter rings is often the fastest and easiest way to swap lenses on set.

Compatible Filters

• Cinema Filters (4×5.65″): Since there are no front threads, you must pair these lenses with 4×5.65″ glass filters, such as our 7x TIFFEN 4×5.6 IR ND WW Filter Set, using a rod-mounted or clamped matte box.

• Circular Filters: Standard screw-on filters cannot be used directly on the lens.

Recommended Rigging Accessories

• Wireless Lens Control: Because the Cooke miniS4/i set features standardized 0.8 MOD focus and iris gear positions across the set, we highly recommend renting the Nucleus-M II Wireless Lens Control System. You can swap lenses quickly without having to unmount and remount your motors.

• 15mm LWS Lens Support: Weighing between 1.3 kg and 1.8 kg, these are substantial solid-metal lenses. Utilizing a 15mm lens support bracket paired with a Smallrig Adapter Baseplate 15mm is strongly recommended to protect the camera’s PL mount.

⚠️ Rigging Notes for Cooke miniS4/i

• The 18mm Exception: Remember that the ultra-wide 18mm lens has a massive 110mm front diameter, unlike the rest of the set (87mm). Do not forget to account for this when prepping your matte box adapter rings!

• Sensor Coverage: These lenses are designed specifically for Super 35 sensors (optimized for a 33.54mm image circle). If you are renting a Full-Frame camera (like the Sony FX6 or FX3), you must shoot in a Super 35 / APS-C crop mode to avoid heavy vignetting.
