Hollyland Pyro H 4K HDMI Wireless Video Transmission System FRENEL rental

Add 4K30 wireless video transmission to your production using the versatile Pyro H 4K HDMI Wireless Video Transmission System from Hollyland. The system includes a wireless transmitter, a wireless receiver, five antennas, a USB-A to USB-C adapter, and an adjustable shoe adapter mount. The transmitter provides HDMI input and features extremely low 60 ms latency that accepts line-of-sight transmission from up to 1300′ (400m) away to the included receiver. When using broadcast mode using up to four receivers and two mobile devices, the system supports up to 650′ (200m) away. The receiver outputs to HDMI, and the transmitter also features an HDMI loop output for displaying your local feed on a monitor.

Each Pyro H unit is equipped with a USB-C port that can power the unit and also supports plug-and-play UVC operation, so it can seamlessly plug into a computer and utilize the wireless video for streaming and conferencing applications. A built-in frequency scanner allows you to select the clearest frequency for your transmission and features a bright LCD for configuration. In addition to the multifunction USB-C port, each unit can be powered using a separately available locking DC power adapter or by using an L-series type battery using an optional battery plate.

Description

Long Distance, High Quality
The Pyro H Wi-Fi broadcast technology enables one transmitter to connect to four receivers with stable signals, offering more flexibility when additional monitoring needs emerge on set. When Broadcast mode is activated, the transmitter can transmit signals to at most four receivers, and the line-of-sight range reaches 650′ (200m). When Broadcast mode is deactivated, the transmitter can transmit signals to at most two receivers and two mobile devices, and the line-of-sight range extends up to 1300′ (400m).
Strong Signal Strength
At a stable transmission range of up to 1300′ (400m), the Pyro H features latency as low as 60ms. Compared to the Mars series, whose transmission range extends at the cost of image quality and latency, the Pyro H excels with increased transmission distance while preserving video quality and minimizing latency. The transmitter/receiver combo also provides two modes for users to tip the balance between image quality and latency, with HD mode for better image quality with bitrate at up to 12 Mb/s and Smooth mode for a dynamic change in latency.
Crisp and Sharp Images
With up to 4K30 transmission capabilities, the Pyro H transmits images with superior clarity, detail, and realism, making it a great choice for professional applications like broadcast and filmmaking.
USB Video Class
UVC allows seamless compatibility with a wide range of devices, such as computers, without requiring additional drivers or software installations. This plug-and-play feature simplifies setup and operation, making it convenient for users in various scenarios, such as live streaming and video conferencing.
Smart Channel Scan
Upon startup, Pyro H automatically chooses a high-quality frequency channel, optimizing the user experience from the outset. Additionally, users can activate the smart channel scan function on the receiver to view real-time feedback on the frequency status, thus ensuring an uninterrupted and reliable experience.
Easy Setup
The Pyro H supports preset grouping and pairing, eliminating the need for users to repetitively and manually set up the transmitter and receivers.
Continuous Power, Multiple Options
In addition to DC input and NP-F batteries, the Pyro H also supports a USB-C power supply (5-12V). A USB power supply option provides convenience, especially when using stabilizers, as it eliminates the need for larger NP-F batteries, reducing overall weight and enhancing maneuverability.

Power Consumption

Typical Power Draw:

  • Transmitter (TX): <7 Watts (Maximum)

  • Receiver (RX): <4 Watts (Maximum)

Internal Battery: None. Both units rely entirely on external power sources.

External Power: The Pyro H system offers three highly versatile ways to power both the TX and RX units on set:

  1. Sony L-Series Plate (NP-F): Integrated directly into the back of both units.

  2. DC Barrel Input (6V – 16V): Features a 2.0mm core socket, perfect for powering via a D-Tap to DC cable from a larger V-Mount or Gold Mount battery.

  3. USB-C (5V – 12V): Can be powered continuously by a standard consumer USB power bank, eliminating the need for heavy NP-F batteries on lightweight gimbal builds.

Estimated Battery Runtimes

(Calculated using an active 7W draw for the TX on the camera)

  • Sony NP-F550 (~15Wh): ~2.1 hours

  • Sony NP-F750 (~31Wh): ~4.4 hours

  • Sony NP-F970 (~47Wh): ~6.7 hours

(Calculated using an active 4W draw for the RX at Video Village)

  • Sony NP-F550 (~15Wh): ~3.7 hours

  • Sony NP-F750 (~31Wh): ~7.7 hours

  • Sony NP-F970 (~47Wh): ~11.7 hours

Important Disclaimer on Runtimes

The runtimes provided above are estimates only, based on standard mathematical calculations. Your actual runtime may vary depending on the age, health condition, and exact milliamp-hour (mAh) capacity of your specific NP-F batteries, as third-party brands often vary from genuine Sony specifications.

⚠️ Rigging Notes for ACs

  • Voltage Warning (DC Port): The DC barrel input has a strict 16V maximum limit. Do not attempt to power this unit directly from a 24V/28V high-voltage cinema block battery without a voltage step-down converter, as it will fry the internal power board. Stick to standard 14.4V V-Mounts if using a D-Tap to DC cable.

  • USB-C Power Considerations: If powering the unit via the USB-C port, a standard 5V/2A output is sufficient for most operations, though the device can accept up to 12V via USB-C. Note that USB-C power may not be supported when operating the system in Broadcast mode.
