Atomos has been developing amazing monitoring and recording technology for over a decade. Shinobi II has been redesigned with a new, slimline case and 50% brighter screen and still manages to pack all of our renowned HDR screen processing technology and professional monitoring tools.
Perfect for video and photography
Shinobi II will run all day on a single battery and offers a host of professional monitoring features. Set up your shots accurately using our advanced histograms, waveforms and videoscopes. A multi-tool Analysis View gives you all the essential info at a glance. There’s even a selfie Mirror Mode for vloggers. Shinobi II is the perfect accessory to improve any photo or video production.
Camera control
A much-requested feature from original Shinobi users, camera control is now possible thanks to the addition of the USB-C connection. Using intuitive, on-screen sliders you can adjust white balance, lens aperture, shutter speed/angle and ISO. A red edge display indicates when the camera is recording internally, whether triggered by the camera or from the Shinobi II. Shinobi II can control most Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Panasonic, and Sony mirrorless cameras over USB-C, and all Z CAM E2 series models (LANC cable required, purchased separately). Cameras from OM System and SIGMA will be supported with future firmware updates. AtomOS 11.02.00 adds the ability to set the camera’s focus point directly via the touch screen interface of the Shinobi II.
Cable locking
Atomos has developed a unique and rugged locking ecosystem to maintain a secure grip on connected HDMI and USB-C cables and Shinobi II is supplied with a special bracket to facilitate this. With Atomos locking cables (purchased separately) it is the most robust capture cable system available today. Shinobi II is also fully compatible with standard, non-locking cables.
High dynamic range
The Shinobi II screen displays a stunning 10+ stops of dynamic range in real-time from Log/PQ/HLG signals. Combined with our unique HDR monitoring features, the Shinobi II simplifies the complexities of shooting Log and HDR, helping you to replicate post-production workflows when it matters most – while shooting. We look after the technology so you can focus on the image.
Calibrated, true-to-eye colors
Calibration is the key to a trustworthy monitor. Shinobi II can be calibrated with Calibrite Display Pro HL / Plus HL probe, or using the Atomos Calibrator app, for ongoing accurate HDR and Rec.709 monitoring. Accurate monitoring ensures reliable results.

Slender splendour
Shinobi is all about portability, and even though we’ve added more hardware functionality, we’ve redesigned and reshaped its body to keep the weight down to just 210 grams. Lightweight and elegant, Shinobi II is your camera’s new best friend.
Monitoring tools
Shinobi II runs on our AtomOS platform and is packed with an extensive suite of scopes and simple one-touch operations. Shinobi II includes monitoring tools for focus, framing and exposure, including focus peaking, 4:1 / 2:1 / 1:1 zoom, zebra, false color, ARRI False Color, and EL Zone™ colorized exposure modes, frame guides, SMPTE safe area, grid markers, waveform RGB parade, vectorscope, a multi-view ‘analysis’ view and a flexible 3D and 1D LUT, profile and preset support (upload .cube files via SD card) and options for anamorphic de-squeeze monitoring (2x, 1.8x, 1.79x, 1.65x, 1.6x, 1.5x, 1.33x, 1.25x).
