The Sennheiser ew 100 ENG G3 Wireless Microphone Combo System is the latest addition to Sennheiser’s Evolution family of wireless microphones. The UHF wireless microphone system features 1680 tunable frequencies, 21 frequency banks and 12 frequency presets per bank. This package conveniently includes the EK 100 G3 camera mount receiver, SK 100 G3 bodypack transmitter with ME 2 lavalier and SKP 100 G3 plug-on transmitter in one package.
The EK 100 G3 receiver is made of a durable metal enclosure and features a full functional LED display. The receiver features a 1/8″ unbalanced TRS mini output for quick connection to camcorders. The receiver features 4 preset memory locations that can be reassigned to any of the 1680 available frequencies, within the 42 MHz tuning range.
The SK 100 G3 bodypack transmitter features an identically designed enclosure as the receiver. It also features an LCD display and 12 preset memory locations that can be reassigned to any of the available 1680 frequencies. The transmitter features an 1/8″ locking-mini input for compatible lavalier microphones.
The ME 2 omnidirectional lavalier microphone features a sensitivity and frequency response suitable for capturing in the most demanding environments.
The SKP 100 G3 plug-on transmitter allows any standard dynamic microphone with a 3-pin XLR connection, to be used wirelessly. The transmitter utilizes the same frequency band as the body-pack and is powered by 2x AA batteries or optional Sennheiser BA2015 accupack.

This wireless system operates in the 606-648 MHz or the 626-668 MHz MHz range.
These frequencies fall perfectly within the 470–694 MHz spectrum, which is fully legal and approved by the EETT for wireless microphone (PMSE) use in Greece and the European Union.
Pro Tip for Renters: Because this spectrum is shared with digital television (DVB-T), local interference varies by region. To guarantee crystal-clear audio, always use the receiver’s Easy Setup > Scan New List feature when you arrive at your shooting location to automatically find the cleanest available frequency bank.
How to Scan for the Cleanest Frequency (Easy Setup)
To avoid audio drops and interference, always scan for a clean channel when arriving at a new location:
- Turn OFF the Transmitter: Keep the bodypack (or handheld mic) powered off so it doesn’t interfere with the receiver’s scan.
- Turn ON the Receiver: Power up the camera-mounted receiver.
- Start the Scan: Press SET to enter the menu, navigate to Easy Setup, and press SET.
- Scan New List: Select Scan New List and press SET. The receiver will scan the local area for clean, interference-free frequencies.
- Save the Channel: Once finished, it will display a bank of free channels. Press SET to select the suggested Bank and Channel.
- Sync the Devices: Turn ON your transmitter. Open the battery compartment to expose the infrared (IR) port and hold it close to the receiver’s screen.
- Complete Sync: On the receiver, select Sync in the menu and press SET. A checkmark will appear on screen confirming the devices are connected.
