The Angenieux Type EZ-1 is a standard telephoto zoom lens designed for both Super 35mm and Full Frame/VistaVision digital cinematography cameras. By utilizing Angenieux’s innovative Interchangeable Rear Optics (IRO) technology, this single lens offers unparalleled flexibility on set.
When configured for Super 35 cameras, it functions as a 30-90mm zoom with an ultra-fast T2.0 aperture. By swapping the rear element block, the lens transforms into a 45-135mm T3.0 zoom that perfectly covers larger Full Frame and VistaVision sensors with no vignetting. Extremely compact and weighing just 2.15kg, it is ideal for handheld, Steadicam, or gimbal operation. The EZ series perfectly matches the colorimetry and optical characteristics of the legendary Optimo and Optimo Style lines, providing beautiful contrast, minimal breathing, and the coveted Angenieux cinematic rendering.

Cinema Filters (4×5.65″): Because there are no front threads, you must pair this lens with 4×5.65″ glass filters, such as our 7x TIFFEN 4×5.6 IR ND WW Filter Set, using the rod-mounted or clamped MB-T12 or ARRI LMB.

Circular Filters: Standard screw-on filters (like 82mm or 86mm) cannot be used on this lens.

⚠️ Rigging Notes for the EZ-1

Sensor Coverage (S35 vs FF): The Angénieux EZ-1 features interchangeable rear optics (IRO technology). If it is configured with the Super35 block (30-90mm T2), you cannot shoot full-frame without heavy vignetting. If it is configured with the Full-Frame block (45-135mm T3), it will cover Full-Frame/Vista Vision sensors perfectly. Always confirm which rear block is currently installed before your shoot.
