Renting the Angenieux Type EZ-1 and EZ-2 as a paired set provides the ultimate A/B camera lens solution or a complete focal package for a single operator. Designed to seamlessly intercut with each other and the high-end Angenieux Optimo line, these lenses deliver the signature Angenieux look—creamy bokeh, forgiving skin tones, and excellent contrast.
The true power of this set lies in its adaptability. Using the Interchangeable Rear Optics (IRO) system, both lenses can be built for your specific camera’s sensor. In Super 35 mode, you get a blisteringly fast T2.0 aperture across a combined 15mm to 90mm range. If you are shooting on large-format cameras like the ARRI Alexa Mini LF or RED Monstro, both lenses convert to Full Frame/VistaVision, providing a 22mm to 135mm range at a constant T3.0.
Both lenses share a common 114mm front diameter and identical gear ring placements, making lens swaps lightning-fast when working with matte boxes, follow focuses, and gimbal rigs. Weighing just over 2.1kg each, they are arguably the most versatile lightweight cinematic zooms on the market.

Compatible Filters

Cinema Filters (4×5.65″): Because there are no front threads, you must pair these lenses with 4×5.65″ glass filters, such as our 7x TIFFEN 4×5.6 IR ND WW Filter Set, using the rod-mounted or clamped MB-T12 or ARRI LMB.

Circular Filters: Standard screw-on filters (like 82mm or 86mm) cannot be used directly on these lenses.

15mm or 19mm Lens Support: Weighing approximately 2.12 kg and 2.15 kg, these are heavy cine zooms. Utilizing a robust lens support bracket paired with our Smallrig Adapter Baseplate 15mm is absolutely mandatory to protect the camera’s mount from stress and damage.
⚠️ Rigging Notes for the EZ Set

Interchangeable Rear Optics (IRO): Both lenses feature Interchangeable Rear Optics (IRO). If configured with the Super 35 blocks (15-40mm & 30-90mm at T2.0), you cannot shoot full-frame without heavy vignetting. If configured with the Full Frame/VistaVision blocks (22-60mm & 45-135mm at T3.0), they will cover large format sensors perfectly. Always confirm which rear blocks are currently installed before your shoot.
