The Angenieux Type EZ-2 is a wide-angle companion to the EZ-1, designed to meet the demands of modern run-and-gun documentary and high-end narrative productions. Thanks to the Interchangeable Rear Optics (IRO) design, the lens is incredibly future-proof.In its Super 35 configuration, the EZ-2 offers a wide 15-40mm focal range with a remarkably fast T2.0 aperture. Swap out the rear element, and it becomes a 22-60mm T3.0 lens fully covering Full Frame and VistaVision sensors. The lens boasts internal focusing and zooming, ensuring the physical size of the lens remains constant—a massive advantage when balancing on a gimbal or utilizing a matte box. With advanced thermal compensation to reduce temperature drift and extremely minimal distortion at the wide end, the EZ-2 delivers premium optical performance in a compact 2.1kg form factor.

Cinema Filters (4×5.65″): Because there are no front threads, you must pair this lens with 4×5.65″ glass filters, such as our 7x TIFFEN 4×5.6 IR ND WW Filter Set, using the rod-mounted or clamped MB-T12 or ARRI LMB.

Circular Filters: Standard screw-on filters (like 82mm or 86mm) cannot be used directly on this lens.

⚠️ Rigging Notes for the EZ-2

Sensor Coverage (S35 vs FF): Just like the EZ-1, the EZ-2 features interchangeable rear optics (IRO technology). If it is configured with the Super35 block (15-40mm T2), you cannot shoot full-frame without heavy vignetting. If it is configured with the Full-Frame block (22-60mm T3), it will cover Full-Frame/Vista Vision sensors perfectly. Always confirm which rear block is currently installed before your shoot.
